Holy shit, MMW @ the fillmore. Best jazz performance ever.

Oliver Wood on bass (of The Wood Brothers), joined the end of the set in crazy jams. The performance was on track up until that point. The jazz continued flowing, but the dynamics of Medeski & Oliver were confrontational. During Medeski's solo, Oliver would attempt to provide backup guitar, and throw off the syncopation of the melody. Medeski backed off and gave Oliver the next 16 bars to get it out of his system. Oliver didnt even realize it at first either, he looked up from playing the same 2 notes repeatedly to see that he had to run with it. Oh, I laughed.

Still, MMW was INCREDIBLE.
