Arms and Legs

Details

Last year Connecticut/New York’s Arms and Legs became the first American band to sign to Modern Sky Records, releasing the rootsy acoustic debut “Everything Is Gonna Be Okay” shortly after performing at the first ever Modern Sky Festival in October. Scott Daly, who at the time was the sole songwriter and consistent member of Arms and Legs, blended the pastoral sounds of 60’s folk with a modern, indie flair. With at times no more than a voice and a guitar, the sparse beauty of his songs were dressed up with classic songwriting, New York sensibility, and little fanfare.

Arms and Legs has taken a new direction with the upcoming album, "The Baggage Wheel," which combines hints of late 1970's Joy Division with the recent sounds of Radiohead and Of Montreal. The addition of producer and songwriter Brett Lefferts has added an exciting level of commitment and electricity to the ever growing project. While still pouring out hauntingly beautiful and introspective songwriting and lyrics, Arms and Legs has a new degree of maturity, danceability, and lust for life.
