As you can see this is no longer a Rogue Wave show and it is now free as well. Rogue Wave has been indefinitely postponed.
Per TicketWeb:
We're sorry to announce that, due to an injury, the D.A. Taylor benefit show has been postponed. Please see the note from Zach Rogue below for more info.
Hang onto your tickets as they will be valid for a rescheduled date to be announced over the coming weeks. Otherwise, you may request a refund from place of purchase.
In lieu of the benefit The Independent will be holding a free show this Friday night. “The Recession Proof Party” features local favorites minipop, Birds & Batteries, The Botticellis and Vin Sol.
“hey guys: to those of you beautiful people who bought tickets to the benefit show at the independent on 11/7, i am sad to say we have to postpone the show until ‘09. i badly injured my neck and arm in september and it is looking as though i may need surgery to try to fix the problem. this means i will be out of commission for at least the rest of the year.
hopefully, i will be back in fighting shape in the new year and ready to make it up to you. please take care of yourselves. we will be back, i promise.
I thought it was really great. They set up two stages at opposite ends of the block, so as soon as one band's set was over the next band would start on the opposite side. Good for the vendors too, since you then would walk by their booths and tables on your way to the other stage every 30 minutes or so. Overall it had a very local, friendly mission feel and was a huge contrast to the giant overcrowded tragedy of the commons festival feeling I got from Outside Lands on Friday. An artist in one of the adjoining studios was having an open studio and giving out free beer. I definitely recommend seeing it the next time they have one.
