Journeyman axe swinger Matt "Hellfiend" Harvey has enlisted in the GRAVEHILL Army for a tour of duty on the CAMPAIGN FOR DEATH METAL PURITY. Harvey is known far and wide for his work stalwarts of the extreme like Exhumed, Repulsion, Dekapitator, and Scarecrow. His addition to the band as live guitarist on the tour bolsters the already superior firepower of a lineup that also includes HOD and CARDIAC ARREST.
Pestilence erupted in the mid 80s from the Eastern part of Holland as one of the earliest European representatives of a brand new extreme kind of music: death metal. It's debut Malleus Maleficarum from 1988 had a huge impact on the then current metal scene. Pestilence spread like wildfire during the years that followed. The band managed to bland brute force, morbid imagery and musical perfection into music that was truly groundbreaking and highly influential. Consuming Impulse from 1989 and Testimony of the Ancients from 1991 were internationally received masterpieces that helped to define an era and a musical genre.
In 1994 the band came to a crushing halt. The deathlike silence that surrounded Pestilence for 15 years was blown to pieces in early 2009 with the release of the brand new studio album Resurrection Macabre. It's a stunning musical statement that brought back the band to the forefront of the international death metal community. The new incarnation of Pestilence consists of original band member Patrick Mameli, the American bass wizard Tony Choy (Atheist, Cynic) and powerhouse drummer Peter Wildoer (Arch Enemy, Darkane). Guitar player Patrick Uterwijk will join the band for the live shows.
HORN. OF. DAGOTH. Just a couple weeks from now and in their onslaught, I will finally feel some relief. FINALLY. Feels like years since the Oakland Metro show.

One Hundred Suns gathered in the height of the sweltering summer season of 2004. In the month of August the 5 elements came together to create a devastating explosion of sound. With the current vein of war and destruction, the atomic threats looming over mankind, the fire of One Hundred Suns was born. A sonic explosion intoxicating the senses with the compound of volatile character and thought, a sonic wave erupts, stripping the flesh and rendering bone to ash as it passes from horizon to horizon. The 5 elements of One Hundred Suns drive hard into the human condition to lay it all to waste.

Grayceon is an atypical three-piece from San Francisco comprised of electric cello, guitar, drums, and vocals. Pulling together an extremely diverse range of musical influences and writing styles, Grayceon's sound defies the boundaries of the metal/rock/progressive genres. Screaming melodic lines over distinct guitar "chunk," doom riffs, jazz chord progressions, intricate folk-like delicacies, and just about everything in between can be found in a single Grayceon track. The cello proficiency and the guitar finger picking style alone are unprecedented in heavy music. And although the vocals are sparse and the drumming unconventional, all elements are intertwined effortlessly to give the arrangements a fluid feel that may not be present in less able hands. Alternate low tuning both on cello and guitar also contribute to their unique sound.
Since 2006, Grayceon have been recording and performing nationally, and have received critic's praise for their self-titled debut CD (Vendlus), their 7" split (The End) with friends, Giant Squid, and now their sophomore release, "This Grand Show" which was released November 2008 (Vendlus).

Portland, Oregon-based cathartic guitar-driven, melodic pop, indie-rock outfit The Wanteds are Tommy Harrington (vocals/guitar), Ryan Mullen (bass), and Adam Mack (drums). But, this wasn't always the case. For awhile, the band was only Harrington, a guitar, a laptop, a minivan, and his own demons - both pushing him to excel and fighting him at every turn. It was a ride that Harrington weathered into the band's forthcoming full-length, "Failure Looks So Good", set for release September 23, 2008.
"On some level, we all walk through life with a basic desire to be wanted. To be loved. And it's really easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the things we want will somehow fix us or make us happy and bring us closer to that goal. If I only had, whatever, then I'd be happy," Harrington says, discussing the band's name.
"It's an irony of life. We desire things in hopes that we'll feel desired."
"Profession of the Christian Faith or Decapitation." This was the
choice given by Sigmundur to his Faroese Viking compatriot Tróndur
í Gøtu. And so it was that in 999 A.D., the Christianization of the
small, scenic, yet striking “Føroyaland” began, slowly but surely,
casting a veil of oblivion over the ancient Scandinavian gods and
only leaving the relics of forgotten hedinistic dogma buried deep
within the Christian ritual. Or so it was believed...
Exactly 999 years later, a small group fondly remembering the
archaic gods and rites came together to form the only Faroese Folk
Metal band, TÝR.

SUIDAKRA
While so-called "pagan metal" bands seem to be popping up around
every corner lately, trying to conform to current trends instead of
coming up with ideas of their own, SUIDAKRA have stayed true to the
sound that they have become known for. Reaching new heights in
their fourteen year history, the German celtic metallers return
full steam ahead with their 9th studio album, "Crógacht". Combining
fast melodic death metal, Irish folk music, and a torrent of
harmonies, they prove yet again the ability blend several different
influences into their unique sound. To put a spin on things, new
elements are introduced, like traditional instruments(bagpipes,
banjo, tin whistles), a sixteen member choir and epic orchestral
arrangements.
