CATTLE DECAPITATION
Well over a decade since its inception, CATTLE DECAPITATION has
forged its not-so-humble beginnings in veggie gore-grind into one
of extreme metal's most relentless forces, encompassing a sound as
schizophrenic as their record collections but with a determined
lyrical stance resolutely damning the ills of humanity.
No strangers to guest appearances, CATTLE DECAPITATION have
enlisted some old friends for guest vocals including Ross Sewage
(Impaled/Ludicra) and Dino Sommese (Dystopia/Asunder). The band is
also very pleased to announce there is a special appearance by
Jarboe (Swans), lending her beautifully haunting voice to the epic
death dirge The Harvest Floor. Jackie Perez Gratz (Grayceon/Amber
Asylum) graces a couple tracks with her electric cello and Los
Angeles noisician John Wiese also lends his electronic/atmospheric
expertise to the album further separating the band from the typical
“cookie-cutter” approach applied all too often by today’s extreme
acts.
PSYOPUS
From Rochester, NY, Psyopus create heart attack-inducing, grinding
metal, that conjures up whirlwinds and tidal waves of absurd guitar
work, harsh vocal onslaughts and hypersonic rhythm bombardment that
takes the term 'tech' to an entirely new level.
BOOK OF BALCK EARTH
Forming from the rain-soaked Seattle soil in late 2003, BOOK OF
BLACK EARTH circa 2008 boasts a sound equally as dreary and evil as
the blackened skies that set upon many a cool, damp day in the
band’s hometown. Now, BOOK OF BLACK EARTH, with Horoskopus, builds
upon the band’s five year history of sound – one that has yielded
praise from the likes of Decibel, Terrorizer and The Seattle
Post-Intelligencer – and ultimately spews forth an
all-encompassing, weighty concept album deep in thought, dark in
mind, and undeniably heavy in both sound and story.
"Horoskopus is about hidden astrological elements of the Christian
church,” vocalist/guitarist T.J. Cowgill says. “From its origins as
a state sponsored religion in the fourth century to the present
day, it has been guided by astrological concepts conceived
centuries before Jesus Christ was mythologized as the ‘Sun’ of God."
GIGAN
Gigan was formed in early 2006 by left-handed lead guitarist Eric
Hersemann. Having moved on from Diabolic(Century Media Records) and
no longer jamming with Hate Eternal(Metal Blade Records), Eric made
the decision to create a whole new musical entity...Growing tired
of standard extreme metal cliches, he constructed a vehicle with
which to properly express his and his bandmates imaginations:
GIGAN. The Gigan "musical experience" consists not only of
agressive-intelligent speed, cosmic soundscapes and abstract
technicality, but also a visual feast as well. Magick influenced
psychedelia is undoubtably a lyrical focus in addition to songs
inspired by misanthropy and the supernatural. GIGAN is a band that
will always be dedicated to imagination and creative
expression...The evolution of Gigan will certainly be a legend in
the making.....and now that a multi-album, worldwide deal has been
signed with Napalm Records, anything is possible...
EYES OF NOCTUM
“Eyes of Noctum” is a melodic black metal band that began to
experiment in 2005 as an underground project until June, 6 2008
when Arcane and Asmodeus began to record their material and step
from the shadows of the unknown. Two years of hard work has lastly
formed the band and they produced an album set to release next
year. Metaphorically speaking “Eyes of Noctum” symbolizes both the
stars and the universe which philosophically translates as the
guidance through darkness. The band’s first album was produced in
Sweden by Fredrik Nordström (flames, Opeth etc.) and with
contributions made by the renowned music producer Jack Douglas
(Iron Maiden, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper etc.), this album consists
of many different elements and sounds that cannot always relate to
a particular genre.
