Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) continues its 65th anniversary season with a concert by the organization’s 130-member Symphony Orchestra at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, (220 S. Michigan Ave.), Mother’s Day, May 13, at 7:30 p.m. Joining the CYSO Symphony Orchestra will be the CYSO Concert Orchestra and guest artists and CYSO alumni Demarre McGill, principal flute with the Seattle Symphony, and Anthony McGill, principal clarinet for the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. The program includes two world premieres commissioned by CYSO: "Concerto Duo for Flute, Clarinet and Orchestra" by CYSO resident composer Joel Puckett, and Jonathan Newman's “Blow It up, Start Again;” as well as works by Bedřich Smetana and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
