Foundry Entertainment Presents... Modern Skirts and The Darnell Boys
Details
"Gramahawk" reintroduces Modern Skirts as a band honest to their musical tastes and to their desire to create and perform both intellectually crafted and inherently catchy songs. Perhaps the most striking aspect of the record, though, is the insight into Gulley's dark, imaginative and humorous brain. There is a gleeful and twisted pop evil afoot here.
Formed in late 2010, the Darnell Boys originally consisted of three brothers, Austin (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Caleb (lead guitar, slide guitar, vocals) and Gus Darnell (guitar, harmonica, percussion, vocals). The band was soon expanded to include Elijah Neesmith on upright bass and Patrick Weise on junkyard percussion. The group's sound is a diverse blend of American musical elements that draw upon the Blues, Country, Gospel, Soul and Rockabilly traditions, all centered around the three brother's unique song writing and vocal work. 2012 promises continued growth and success with an aggressive performing schedule and the recording of a debut album.
