After witnessing years of depleted spirit at industry conference music festivals, the Bay Area
Takeover has decided: it’s time to bring that independent spirit back! The Bay Area Takeover is
an entity committed to reinvigorating the music festival as a place to discover great new music
from some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best record labels.
The Bay Area Takeover is comprised of two up-and-coming Bay Area labels - Three Ring
Records and Tricycle Records - and the Bay Area’s premier resource for the best new
independent music, The Bay Bridged.
The first Takeover will be an independent showcase held during the 2008 South by Southwest
Music Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 13th
from 12pm – 6pm at the Beauty Bar – one of
Austin’s premiere venues. The event will feature fifteen Bay Area bands, known in the indie
world as some of the hottest up-and-coming and under the radar groups.
