I just moved here, and I loved the last time I saw these guys. Three very nice guys making very nice noise - they just don't write bad songs. If you're interested in going, let me know!
This San Francisco foursome waste little time in setting the tone of their music. Their songs vary from energetic rockers fueled by spastic guitars with a tight-but-loose rhythm section and angst-ridden vocals, to guitar flourishes and dirty pop, to a slow groove with intertwining guitars, to a banjo-laced track that successfully shotgun weds inbred-country with accessible indie-rock. Their songs may be sporadic, but all are brimming with varying textures and stimulating tempo changes. What Birdmonster may lack in slick production, they more than make up for with unbridled energy, sweat-soaked passion and genuine rock 'n roll ingenuity, and their explosive live show is one not to be missed.
